Tree protection and permits
Municipal rules may apply to trees being removed during development or site work. We can help identify when an arborist report or municipal permit process should be addressed before clearing begins.
How a clearing job works
- Site visit: we walk the property with you, mark what stays and what goes, and check access for equipment.
- Permits first: if protected trees are involved, our ISA Certified Arborist can prepare the arborist report for the municipality before any cutting.
- Clearing: trees are felled or dismantled, brush is cleared and material is chipped on site.
- Finish to your next step: stumps ground or left for the excavator, and debris hauled or mulched depending on what the site needs next.
Keeping the trees you want
Selective clearing is often better than clearing everything. We can remove brush, dead trees and invasive growth around healthy trees you want to keep, and protect them from equipment damage during the work.
Stumps and grading
If the area is being excavated, stumps may come out with the dig. If it's becoming lawn or garden, stump grinding through our partner Stump 'B' Gone takes them below grade.

Do I need a permit to clear trees on my lot in London?
Possibly. London's Tree Protection By-law covers private trees 50 cm in diameter or larger within the Urban Growth Boundary, and trees of any size in Tree Protection Areas. Check before clearing; our permit guide explains the process.

Yes. Selective clearing removes brush, dead trees and unwanted growth while protecting the trees you want to keep.
What happens to the wood and brush?
Branches and brush are chipped on site. Wood is hauled away or left for you, depending on what you want.
